Pictures need to be reconfigured to a 16x9 before they are put on the frame so that they can fit properly which was a bit frustrating but worked out fine in the end. I thought it was a bit too blurry but I gave it as a present and they loved it and thought the quality was really good.

I found a free service called FrameChannel which allows me to program the content for my Samsung frame. The frame works beautifully with this service. There may be other such services, but I'm please by this combination! Plan to buy another one for my parents.

Great frame for the money. Has very good picture quality. The controls can be a bit tricky until you get use to them but other than that it's great. I just bought a new sd card and put all the pictures I wanted to show on it from my computer. Then just plug it in and it will start playing those pictures. That way you don't have to use the controls.

Update to my earlier review:

As stated, I now have the Sony frame. I received it early (it's a Christmas gift :)) and while the other frame is great. This frame is far better. The picture quality (it has more megapixels, so I am not surprised) is superb; the features and just the design and quality of the frame is just much better. I don't want to get into too much detail because my earlier post is lengthy enough. However, I haven't seen a better picture frame yet. Highly recommned. Five stars!!

I recently took a trip to Costa Rica and was searching for a different manner in which to showcase my pictures. The online programs (such as Snapfish) are great, but I wanted something different :).

I've known about digital frames for some time; however, I really didn't put that much thought into them. However, because Costa Rica is such a beautiful country, especially during the rainy season (thankfully it only rained hard once when we were there), the pictures, to me, for displaying them, required an extra special touch. With that in mind, I sought out to find a digital frame.

I looked at several frames and looked particularly at the frames in the store that displayed real photos -- not the photos generated by the manufacturer, as they normally don't give the true picture quality. I chose a frame, but found it difficult to get going and even more difficult to display the photos. It was frustrating. Needless to say, I returned it.

I continued searching and most of the other frames that I liked were rather pricey. Since this frame was going to be on my desk at work, I didn't want to pay an exorbitant amount of money. However, I have to admit, I kept going back to the Sony 7" frame, which comes with an average price of 9.00. I didn't want to spend that much and decided to set a limit of or less. Well in that price range, what I came across, didn't seem to have what I needed and the picture quality was poor. I thought, "surprise...surprise". Then, as I was shopping over the weekend, I stumbled across this frame, and thought, "maybe there's hope".

It was 7", had a USB port (though it's a mini one) and I loved the design of the frame. The cost: .99. I thought, "Hmm, this can't be a good product. BUT, for roughly .00 and the option to bring it back if it doesn't work, seemed like a win-win situation." So I bought it and gave it a try.

Much to my surprise, it was VERY easy to load my photos using an SD card and more amazingly, how FAST the photos appeared on screen. I have a ton of photos on my SD card, and I was just flabbergasted by how quickly they appeared once I turned the frame on. Easy controls and the "Autoplay" button is a quick and easy way to get the show started. As the other reviewer stated, every time you turn back on the frame it starts from the beginning. Also, as she pointed out, I, too, am not quite sure why there's a volume button. But being able to display one photo as if it's a solo photo instead of part of a slide show, is another nice option to have.

Some (not all) pictures aren't quite clear (but still clear) and the quality of the pictures is nice. Still, I must adit that since I am enjoying this frame so much and am so pleased that a .00 frame can provide good picture quality, I am going to purchase the Sony and do a comparison. Even if I ultimately buy the Sony frame too, I STILL would recommend this product to anyone looking for a nice entry into the digital frame world. You shouldn't be disappointed :).

I purchased one of these for my mother-in-law, someone that resists technology. I was searching for a digital picture frame that was easy to use, accepted a variety of storage devices, had good display resolution, and capable of displaying pictures and videos. This product met all of my requirements, and for a reasonable cost. Because this device permits my mother-in-law to see all of the pictures the rest of the family has been taking, this is now her favorite electronic device.

I was extremely surprised with all the features and options available on this frame! The reason I went with this frame (as opposed to any other) is that you can load photos up to 12MB in size--and you don't have to bother resizing the photos! The native display is 640x480, but I loaded a bunch of different sizes and they all looked fine (there was no strange resizing or cropping). I have to say I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the displayed photos. I tested high-quality 600dpi photos vs. low-quality 96dpi photos, and while you could tell a difference if you REALLY studied them, overall, for the average user, the photos look just fine in low-quality (which allows you to get more photos on your memory card).

Speaking of memory cards, this frame supports more popular formats than I've seen elsewhere (including SD Memory Cards, MultiMedia (MMC) Cards, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, IBM Microdrive, and Type I/II Compact Flash Cards) as well as supporting MP3s and a slew of video formats (Motion JPEG (AVI), MPEG-I, MPEG-II, MPEG-IV, 3GPP)!!

Setup is easy enough to figure out, although it's easier with the remote as opposed to the buttons on the back of the unit. I was also impressed with the slideshow options, which include a large selection of transition effects and slideshow timing features. There are only two things I didn't really like, but neither is a reason to skip this frame. The first "con" is that I would much rather have had a wood, black, or silver frame--but for (after rebate on Black Friday), I can accept a white frame! The second "con" is that if you have anything other than .jpgs on the memory card (even just one .mp3!), the first screen you get (when powered on) lists PHOTO, MUSIC, VIDEO, FILE and you have to manually select PHOTO to start the slideshow.

Overall, I would highly recommend this frame. As I mentioned, I did get it for a great price, but I actually like it enough to pay more for it.
